As a not-for-profit, Catholic hospital founded in 1893, it is the longest continually operating hospital in Des Moines and a major part of the MercyOne Network. I had spinal fusion surgery on 11/16/22 and recuperated after surgery and through the night. All of the nurses were so very kind and thoughtful. I was under Dr. Munson’s care and he was a genuinely sensitive surgeon that did not want his patients to suffer. A special shout out to Courtney Schooley, ALNP, Tessa Sandro, ALNP, and my night nurses, Christy, RN and Tom, NA.
